Hamburg, St. Petersburg, Vienna - and now Rotterdam too. When it comes to tournaments in the 500 category on the ATP tour, Andrey Rublev remains the man of the hour. Because on Sunday the Russian won the fourth title in a row with a 7: 6 (4) and 6: 4. This time at the traditional indoor tournament in Rotterdam. Rublev has won 20 matches in a row at ATP Tour 500 tournaments.

At the beginning of the match, both players had a chance to get the opponent's serve. From Fucsovics' point of view, things got really tricky with the score of 5: 6 - he gave Rublev a break and thus a set point. Fucsovics, however, fended off with a serve-forehand combination and saved himself in the tiebreak. After winning the first set, Rublev managed the first break of the match in the following game, which the favorite confirmed with some difficulty. And ultimately served safely.

Rublev and Fucsovics now in Doha

Marton Fucsovics had fought his way out of qualification into the final. Not an isolated case in the tennis world on this final Sunday: in Buenos Aires later that evening, qualifier Francisco Cerundolo was supposed to challenge tournament favorite Diego Schwartzman. And at the same time as the final in Rotterdam, Clara Tauson and Viktorija Golubic, two players who were also not in the main field per se, fought for the title in Lyon.

Both players will continue in Doha next week: While Rublev is enjoying a bye in round one, Marton Fucsovics has to play against Dusan Lajovic. Andrey Rublev will get the next chance to continue his 500 series from March 15th in Dubai.
