The crux of a best-of-five match is that in a duel between two top players like Tsitsipas and Medvedev, neither of the two can consistently act at the highest level (exception to this rule: Rafael Nadal on ashes). Stefanos Tsitsipas stormed through the first set and was also ahead with a break in round two. And suddenly played like an earthly for a few minutes.

Medvedev used the short period of weakness of his opponent, not only managed the rebreak, but even developed two chances to equalize the set. The Tsitsipas did not allow the tiebreaker either at this point or a little later.

Tsitsipas now against Zverev

And so the ATP world champion of 2019 took the lead against his successor with 2-0 sets, Medvedev thought about his misconduct while changing clothes. The world number two came back to Court Philippe-Chatrier in white, Tsitsipas was only moderately impressed. Both players missed early break opportunities. Medvedev was the first to strike - in the fifth game with a magical stop. Tsitsipas did not need long for the comeback, equalized to 4: 4.

And earned his first match point with a score of 6: 5 after a 40: 0 at Medvedev's serve. Medvedev served from below, Tsitsipas said thank you very much.

Alexander Zverev is waiting in the semifinals on Friday. As expected, the German had no problems with Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, winning 6: 4, 6: 1 and 6: 1.
