The two Austrians were on court 9 for 2:18 hours, interrupted by a rain break, after which Rdionov quickly took a 3-0 lead in the third set. The 21-year-old, who, like Ofner, trains with Wolfgang Thiem, also brought it to the finish. Ex-professional Javier Frana has been with Rodionov as tour coach since the beginning of the year. Before the Corona break, the Lower Austrian had already won two Challenger tournaments in Dallas and Morelos.
This means that three Austrians will go into the 2020 French Open from Sunday: Dominic Thiem will meet Marin Cilic in third place. Dennis Novak starts against US Open finalist Alexander Zverev.
