The start of the current season was more than disappointing for Stefanos Tsitsipas . At the Australian Open, the 21-year-old lost to Milos Raonic in the third round, and the Greek also failed in the second round at the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam.

Tsitsipas now apparently wants to improve these performances on the red ashes. The world number six will play a total of five events in the run-up to the French Open in the course of the European clay court season. It starts with the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo. Immediately afterwards it goes to Barcelona for Tsitsipas.

The ATP 250 tournament in Estoril will then be on the program for the Greeks before Tsitsipas will contest the two Masters 1000 events in Madrid and Rome. After five tournaments in just as many weeks, the reigning ATP Finals winner will then take a week off before the French Open starts in Paris.

In the past season, Tsitsipas was in excellent shape on sand. For example, he won the tournament in Estoril, and in Madrid the 21-year-old only lost to Novak Djokovic in the final after defeating Rafael Nadal . The French Open, on the other hand, was disappointing for the Greeks - Tsitsipas had to admit defeat in a thrilling game of Stan Wawrinka in the round of 16 .
