Generali Austrian Pro Series - Final-8: Hampel beats Neumayer, Melzer is defeated by Erler

Lukas Neumayer and Lenny Hampel entered the square at 10:00 a.m. They both finished fourth in their groups and had to surrender to the tough competition. Neumayer, only 17 years young, designed sentence one extremely balanced, won a tie-break. In this, however, Hampel was able to play out his routine and secured it just about 8: 6. That must have left its mark on the young man from Salzburg. In round two, it was Lenny Hampel who quickly ensured clear conditions and finally secured this game with 7: 6 (6) and 6: 2.
Melzer unfortunate third party
Quite surprising in the second game was Jürgen Melzer, who led Group B until the last game. In this "Jojo" had to bounce against Sebastian Ofner and took third place in a balanced "three-wheel". Alex Erler, on the other hand, had won this duel thanks to his strong success over Lukas Neumayer. The Tyrolean had previously drawn attention to himself with a set win against Dominic Thiem.
A lively exchange of blows developed, both players acting at eye level. A tie break had to bring the decision in sentence one. As in the first game of the day, this quick decision was not for the faint of heart, Alex Erler was finally able to set his fourth set point to 1-0. But veteran Melzer didn't want to be put up with it, the former number eight in the world took command and equalized with 6: 3. The comeback attempt remained unrewarded for Jürgen Melzer, Erler got top water again in round three and secured this with 6: 3.
