After the qualification for the final round was ensured, Melzer, who is only active in doubles on the ATP tour, allowed himself a few days off. In the decisive phase against Hampel, the left-hander was fully there, winning 7: 6 (5) and 6: 3. Melzer plays against David Pichler on Wednesday, who was able to prevail over Sebastian Ofner.
In Group A, Dominic Thiem initially struggled with Alexander Erler, but eventually won 3-6, 6-2 and 6-2. Thiem will meet Lukas Neumayer on Wednesday (from 4 p.m. on livestream on ServusTV and tennisnet and in our livestream), who had no chance against Dennis Novak in 3-6, 4-6.
Here is the schedule for Wednesday, June 17th, 2020:

9:30 a.m. | Dennis Novak | Alexander Erler |
followed by | Sebastian Ofner | Lenny Hampel |
