Novak gave Alexander Erler no chance at 6-0, 6-0. Erler had won the first set against Dominic Thiem on Tuesday, but was lost against Novak from the start. Thiem will play against Lukas Neumayer from 4 p.m. (in our livestream and live ticker).
In Group B, Sebastian Ofner achieved an urgently needed success against Lenny Hampel. Ofner, who was defeated twice in the tie-break at the start of the final round by David Pichler, beat Lenny Hampel 2-6, 6-2 and 6-1. Pichler meets Jürgen Melzer in the last match of the day.
