Some things are just given by God. Can't do anything. And it doesn't always have to be bad. Pablo Carreno Busta, for example: He just turned 30, but doesn't seem to be aging at all. But what is its secret, especially in a sport in which the actors always seem a few years older than they are (spending a lot of time in the sun ...)? Because Carreno Busta doesn't do that, in ten years he will probably still look like 23, the light blue shirt he wore on Saturday afternoon did the rest, so maybe Carreno Busta does it on purpose. /

Carreno Busta also jumped across the pitch in the Hamburg semifinals, feeling a little more than usual, which was perhaps due to the good Federico Delbonis. That, please don't be offended, looks at least like his 30 years, plus the few more years because of the sun. At Delbonis everything seems a bit more cumbersome. We had already mentioned the serve , he also proudly maintains the gigantic forehand loop that has been eliminated on the ATP tour for years, and when Delbonis finally hits the ball after completing his service movement, it happens with a strained "Hurrrk" as if he were lifting an unexpectedly heavy sofa.

Carreno Busta uses the break chances

Which of course does not detract from the danger of the impact. In set one, Delbonis made 20 out of 23 points when the first service came, and both players didn't allow much. In the tie-break, Carreno Busta decidedly attacked the second serve, scored seven points in a row after falling 2-0 down, fended off all of Delbonis' breakballs in the second set, who in turn only managed this on five of seven occasions - 7: 6 (2 ), 6: 3 left it in the end for Carreno Busta, to the delight of the Hamburg audience.

Carreno Busta also bounced back afterwards, in an on-court interview with Babsi Schett. He always had his difficulties with Delbonis (the Argentine had led 5: 2 before the match in the H2H), Delbonis was damn difficult to play as a left-hander, with all the twist, explained PCB. But he was "very focused", assured Carreno Busta, as he does in every interview, presumably the only reason he avoids addressing the "right intensity" in order not to be sued by Rafael Nadal in matters of copyright. In the end he made a laugh. He lost the last and only game against Filip Krajinovic in the final, Schett introduced her final question, "Thanks for the memory," countered Carreno Busta and grinned.

Speaking of Krajinovic: He had just played his easiest game of the week in the semifinals. After he had to go over three sets against Daniel Altmaier, Philipp Kohlschreiber and Stefanos Tsitsipas, he made short work of Laslo Djere at 6: 4, 6: 2. Perhaps important to be fit for the final, Krajinovic finally wants to win his first title here, after three defeats in the final at the ATP level. And the easy-going, light Carreno Busta? Wants title number 6, this year he has already triumphed in Marbella.
