Hua Hin: Tatjana Maria already in the quarterfinals
Wimbledon semifinalist Tatjana Maria confidently advanced to the quarterfinals of the WTA tournament in Hua Hin, Thailand.

The 35-year-old from Bad Saulgau won her round of 16 on Thursday against the Ukrainian Dajana Jastremska 6-0, 6-4. In the first set, Maria made short work of 30 minutes of play, in the second round she defied her opponent, who played more strongly.
"It was definitely not an easy match," said Maria, who was sixth, "I had to be really focused, which I did very well in the first set." Afterwards, Jastremska "played better and served better," Maria continued. It was not easy for her to get her serves through: "That was the reason why it was so tight in the second set."
In the round of the last eight, the world number 63 meets. on Friday to the unseeded Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko. At the end of last year, Maria was named "Comeback Player of the Year" by the WTA for her impressive performance at the classic Wimbledon lawn.
