"I didn't expect to make it back to the field after the last operation," wrote the 26-year-old on Instagram under a training video. "It took an absurd amount of rehabilitation and hard work to get to this point, so I'm very proud of myself."

Robson was once considered the UK's greatest tennis player and made it to number 27 in the world in 2013 at the age of only 19. But then she was haunted by bad luck with injuries: Her left wrist in particular repeatedly caused her problems, most recently her hip. She had to go under the knife here twice, the last time almost exactly a year ago . She couldn't wait to take her dog for a walk again without limping, "she said at the time. The prospect of playing tennis again? Was not good. /

Robson: No resignation

Her colleagues were also happy with Robson. "You score as if you hadn't been away for a day," commented Madison Keys on the training video. "I'm so happy that you're back on the pitch, babe." And Katie Boulter wrote: "That smile you had on your face today ..." - Robson answer: "Cloud nine!"

What Robson's first training session means - is she really planning a comeback? Apparently. She provided her post with a PS to her followers: "You can now stop asking if I have resigned."

Robson first attracted attention at the US Open in 2012, when she beat Kim Clijsters and Li Na and made it to the round of 16. In 2014, however, her injury odyssey began, her last match she played in April 2019.
