Dzumhur left the pitch in the qualifying match in Acapulco with a score of 5: 6 against Botic van de Zandschulp - according to his own statement, because he could no longer endure the referee's wrong decisions.

It seems unclear whether Dzumhur left the field voluntarily or was qualified. The ATP told the website tennismajors.com that Dzumhur received two warnings and did not continue his match, which resulted in a disqualification. However, Dzumhur stated that he had voluntarily vacated the place. /

"I couldn't stand it anymore that someone treated me so badly that he could do what he wanted. The referee had a direct influence on the match with bad decisions. Most recently at 5: 5, 40:40 - it was clear that the ball was out, but it didn't intervene, "the 28-year-old is quoted as saying.

Dzumhur is sorry for his outburst

The former world number 23 has threatened the referee with the words "I'll kill you". of yourself. He does not know where some media would have picked it up. He said to the supervisor that he felt he had to hit the referee after everything he had done to him. The supervisor said this was not a good idea. Dzumhur: "I never said I would kill anyone and I don't know where that came from. Especially since there are videos of the whole thing."

At 5-6 he told the referee that he would sue him, "because it has a direct impact on my defeat. I received a warning for that." After the next point he said something again, the referee told him it was enough. He countered that it wasn't enough, he decided for himself. Then the second warning, that is, the point deduction.

The world ranking 125 regrets that he did not have his emotions under control. "I am also sorry to my family that I did not show myself stronger than what happened around me. But I was treated unfairly, I was harmed. I am staying."
