Alexander Zverev is struggling with thigh problems

Actually, despite the final defeat against Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev should have been able to look back on the tournament in Paris-Bercy with joy: The German was not upset by the allegations of his ex-girlfriend Olga Sharypova , showed some sensational performances in the French capital beat Rafael Nadal on the way to the final.

Even in the final itself, Zverev played anything but bad, but from the middle of the second set the 23-year-old seemed to be losing strength. Accordingly, the world number seven had little to oppose in the third round.

Zverev attributed this mainly to the three-hour battle against Adrian Mannarino, but the thigh also thwarted the Hamburg native: "I have kind of weird pain in my thigh. I don't know what it is. There must be I look. It didn't feel good in the end. " However, this injury was not the reason for the defeat: "I was tired too."

Zverev has been in London since Monday

What that means for the ATP Finals starting on Sunday in London, the 13-time ATP title holder did not answer a question from tennisnet . Despite the small concerns about injuries, nothing should stand in the way of a start. "I'm looking forward to London, the ATP Finals are a very special tournament for me," said Zverev, who has been in the British capital since Monday.

While there are at least small question marks behind fitness, there are currently a lot of things coming together at Zverev: "I think I've been on the right track since resuming the tour and playing good tennis. But that's clear for the German after the final defeat in Paris : “I'm someone who likes to win titles.” Preferably in London.
