Nastasja Mariana Schunk impressed at her home tournament in Braunschweig until she won the title

Is a new German talent slowly making its way in women's tennis? The only 18-year-old Nastasja Mariana Schunk won her second title this year in an impressive way at the ITF clay court event in Braunschweig. The current number 436 in the WTA rankings won the final at the event endowed with 25,000 US dollars against her compatriot Anna Klasen with 6: 3, 6: 1. In the previous round, the Mainz woman did not give a single set, neither in the quarter-finals against the two-seeded Argentine Maria Lourdes Carle, nor in the semi-final against the Saarland-born Katharina Hobgarski, who had three.

Schunk had already won an equally highly endowed clay court tournament in Bydgoszcz, Poland, at the beginning of August. And just like this week in Braunschweig, the left-hander successfully fought her way through the qualification before she was able to achieve complete success with 4: 6, 6: 2, 6: 0 against the Russian Darya Astakhova. The young German was also able to show at this year's junior tournament in Wimbledon. There she only had to admit defeat to the Spaniard Ane Mintegi Del Olmo in the final .

Here is the draw from Braunschweig!
