Jan-Lennard Struff is getting back in shape.

It's a long way back for Jan-Lennard back to the absolute top of the world. In the last few weeks, light and shadow have alternated again and again, against Grigor Dimitrov Struff just missed setting another positive exclamation mark. In three hard-fought sets, the German had to admit defeat 6:4, 6:7 (5:7) and 4:6.

After Struff won against the Italian Fabio Fognini in the first round, the qualifier was unable to prevail against the second well-known opponent. Against Dimitrov, who lives in Florida, Struff also had the audience on the very crowded court against him, but showed a very concentrated performance throughout the season. In the tie-break of the second set, he was already ahead in the mini-break, aiming for victory, but couldn't hold his serve. Dimitrov grabbed it.

The Bulgarian managed an early break in the third set, but Struff, in which double specialist Kevin Krawietz took a seat in the box in the third set, did not give up. But Dimtrov was able to hold his serve until the end and after two and a half hours he closed the sack on his own serve.

Nevertheless, Struff will save the days of Miami as a success. The positive exclamation marks are increasing again for the German Davis Cup player.
