Kei Nishikori celebrates wedding ceremony - two years late
Kei Nishikori posted wedding photos on social media yesterday Sunday. The Japanese got married a good two years ago.

Anyone who didn't know better could assume that Kei Nishikori only got married a few hours ago. Of course it's not like that at all, in 2022 the Japanese married the ex-model Mai Yamauchi, with whom he had been together for five years. The couple has a one-year-old son together, who was born in spring 2021.
Now the couple have celebrated a wedding ceremony and reception with a large crowd, after a long time it was simply not possible due to COVID regulations. "I have a report for all of you. On December 24th, I had a wedding ceremony and reception with my wife Mai. Because of the Corona accident, I couldn't hold her for a long time," Nishikori wrote on Instagram.
Nishikori without ranking
On Christmas Day, however, we had the opportunity to celebrate on a grand scale: "Thank you very much for being able to celebrate with so many people. It will be a new beginning for us," said NIshikori, who is currently struggling with injury concerns. The Japanese played the last tournament on the ATP tour more than a year ago: Nishikori last started in Indian Wells in October 2021.
Despite his advanced age - Nishikori will be celebrating his 33rd birthday in a few days - the Japanese is working on his comeback. The former world number four also emphasized this under the wedding photos: "I will make an effort to return to the world stage." Nishikori is currently unranked in the world rankings.
