Lacko, the former number 44 in the ATP world rankings, seemed well prepared for the aggressive serve-and-volley game of his opponent. Lively on the legs and with precise passages Lacko was able to ward off the attacks Cressys.

"If you just look at the result, it might look pretty simple. However, that was definitely not it, "Lacko said after the quick encounter. "At the score of 3-3 in the first set, I had to fend off breakballs. I then played very well in the match and could take the serve from him. From then on it went very well. "

Carpet Dancers Lacko

The man from Bratislava is known for consistently achieving good results on fast surfaces. "The carpet here is something special, because there are hardly any tournaments that are played on this underground. I did not feel so good in my first match. As things went on, things got better and better. "

Lacko won the final with victories over Vitaliy Sachko of Ukraine, Italian defending champion Filippo Baldi, Russian veteran Teymuraz Gabilashvili and German qualifier Julian Lenz. In Ismaning he won his first title of the season. It was also his first tournament since he failed in qualifying for the US Open.

Lacko is again enjoying tennis

"I'm getting a bit older and have been struggling with some health issues this year," says Lacko. "In the second half of the season, I also missed a bit the motivation. I felt that I needed a break to New York. I relaxed a bit and got a new motivation. After two months this is a very good comeback. "

9,200 euros in prize money and 90 ATP ranking points are the reward for a successful week in Bavaria. Lacko is expected to spend the next two weeks in Germany. "I reported for Hamburg next week, but will decide at short notice, if I will play. Then there's the tournament Eckental, home in Bratislava and an event in Italy. "

The fact that the current number 239 in the world will be there next year on the tour, but is out of the question. "I will play again in 2020," said Lacko.

Halys / Lamasine win double

In the subsequent doubles final Cressy was at the side of his compatriot James Cerretani back on the court. However, the duo lost to Frenchman Quentin Halys and Tristan Lamasine 6-3, 7-5 in one hour and 16 minutes. It was the second team success on the Challenger Tour for Halys and Lamasine. The two will finish their season after their home tournament in Brest next week.
