Maria Sakkari qualified as the fifth player for the WTA final
The Greek Maria Sakkari has qualified as the fifth player for the season finale of the WTA Tour in Guadalajara / Mexico (November 8th to 14th).

The semi-finalist of the US Open is at the tournament of the eight best of the year for the first time. Before Sakkari (26), Wimbledon winner Ashleigh Barty (Australia), Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus), French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova and Karolina Pliskova (both Czech Republic) bought their tickets.
There are still three places left for the tournament, which was canceled due to the corona crisis last year and was relocated from Shenzhen / China to Mexico this season. Iga Swiatek (Poland), Garbine Muguruza and Paula Badosa (both Spain) are currently in the race with good prospects.
Angelique Kerber (Kiel) should not have a chance after her short-term cancellation for the tournament in Moscow. Points can only be won this week and the next.
