After Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have mastered the record books in almost every sporting respect, they could now set a new record for most visitors to a tennis match. With almost 50,000 expected spectators, the previous maximum of 42,517 visitors (Federer vs Zverev show fight Mexico City 2019) would be significantly exceeded at the meeting on Friday, February 7th. Federer and Nadal live out their legendary rivalry in Cape Town in a show fight.

In addition to entertainment for all tennis fans, this event is also intended to raise money for the Roger Federer Foundation. This organization should then use the money to promote the education of children in Africa. In 2010 the two already faced each other twice for a good cause: in December, the Swiss and Mallorcan competed in two "Matches for Africa" within 24 hours, which were held in favor of poor African children. Overall, it will be the “sixth match for Africa” after other tennis stars like John Isner or Jack Sock have been involved in past matches.

Federer and Nadal beaten in Melbourne

The venue this year is the football stadium in Cape Town with a capacity of 55,000 spectators, where 2010 World Cup matches were played. It will also be the first time that Roger Federer will serve in his mother's home country.

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, both of whom have not had the best start to the year, are certainly looking forward to being distracted by such a highlight. Federer lost three sets at the Australian Open Novak Djokovic in the semifinals and Rafael Nadal had to pack his bags against a strong player Dominic Thiem in the quarterfinals.
