Lucas Miedler won a future in Sharm El Sheikh

Lucas Miedler lived up to his favorite position at the M15 ITF Future tournament in Sharm El Sheikh. The Austrian, who started as number one, won the final against the Japanese Makoto Ochi 6: 3 and 7: 6 (3). It was the fifth win in the fifth match, and Miedler had to tremble in the quarter-finals against the Cypriot Petros Chrysochos when he won 7-5 in the tie-break of the third set.

The reward for the efforts is very modest, however: Miedler, who is currently listed at position 290 in the ATP world ranking, only gets ten points for the ATP world ranking. But there are not many other options left for players in the Miedler category: the ranking is not good enough for most of the challengers. The good news for the Lower Austrian: In Lugano he got a place in the main field. After almost 20 players canceled at short notice.
