Nadal celebrated his 379th match victory in a tournament in the 1000 category - leaving Roger Federer behind.

The Swiss is currently 378 wins ahead of Novak Djokovic with 345, Andy Murray with 212, Andre Agassi with 209, Tomas Berdych with 191, David Ferrer with 189, Andy Roddick with 157 and Stan Wawrinka with 150.

Nadal owes his leadership above all to the sand events in spring: he won the Monte Carlo Masters a total of 11 times, 9 times in Rome, 1 time in Hamburg and 5 times in Madrid. With a total of 34 tournament victories at the 1000 level, Nadal also leads Novak Djokovic with 33 and Roger Federer with 28.

At the Rogers Cup, optionally in Montreal and Toronto, Rafa triumphed a total of 4 times and has a match record of 36 wins with 8 losses. Nadal is currently defending title, last year he beat Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final. He must at least reach the final this year so that Roger Federer does not push him out of second place in the world rankings.

On the night of Saturday, Nadal plays against Fabio Fognini for the semi-finals.
