Rafael Nadal can look back on an extremely successful year 2019 so far. In the three previous Grand Slam tournaments he reached at least the semi-finals, in Roland Garros the Spaniard even voted the undisputed king of the clay court for the twelfth time. Nadal also won the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome.

In the second half of the year, the 18-time Grand Slam winner is likely to step a little shorter. Due to his wedding in October with his long-term friend Maria Francisca Perello and the subsequent honeymoon, Nadal will probably do without the tournaments in Shanghai and Paris-Bercy, a performance in Vienna is impossible anyway.

The next tournament will be held by Nadal in Montreal before heading to Cincinnati and the US Open in New York. Should the Mallorcan actually do without the events in Shanghai and Paris, the 33-year-old would only take part in the Laver Cup and the ATP finals in autumn.
