Disappointment for Italian tennis fans: Lorenzo Musetti missed the semi-finals of the Next Gen Finals in Milan on Thursday evening and, like his compatriots Matteo Arnaldi and Francesco Passaro, was eliminated in the preliminary round. In the last group match, Musetti had to admit defeat to the British Jack Draper in a true final for the semifinals with 1:4, 0:4 and 3:4 (3)-
While Draper put in a strong performance and meets Brandon Nakashima in Friday's semifinals, Musetti had a pitch-black day. The 20-year-old made some inexplicable mistakes and had to congratulate his opponent on their victory after just 57 minutes of play.
Dominic Stricker, who was already the winner of the red group before the last day of play, confirmed his impressive form in the first match of the evening. The Swiss prevailed against Chun-Hsin Tseng 4:2, 4:1 and 4:2. He faces Jiri Lehecka in the semifinals.
