Once the place has been paid for, then you should really enjoy it, Matteo Arnaldi and Francesco Passaro may have thought on the second day of the #NextGen Finals in Turin. And delivered a spectacle to the home audience, which after a playing time of 2:38 hours with 4: 3 (7), 2: 4, 3: 4 (4), 4: 3 (4) and finally 4: 3 (8 ) inclined towards Passaro.
So four tie-breaks in five sets, that can take a while. Exactly five minutes longer than the previous record set by Lorenzo Musetti and Hugo Gaston last year. Brandon Nalashima, on the other hand, was in a hurry compared to Jiri Lehecka. The American won 4: 1, 4: 3 (2) and 4: 2 and was the first player to reach the semifinals.
Jack Draper, on the other hand, wrote to Milan for the first time. The Brit, who lost to Dominic Stricker from Switzerland at the start, won against Chun-Hsin Tseng 1-4, 4-2, 4-3 and 4-2.
