Nick Kyrgios received a very special "birthday present" from Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Birthday boy Nick Kyrgios had no warm words for the gag of his tennis colleague Stefanos Tsitsipas. After the Greek publicized the phone number of the Australian, who is turning 25 today, as a "gift", the eccentric Kyrgios wrote: "You are really an idiot. To everyone, stop calling me." But then Kyrgios wasn't really serious. The message was accompanied by the triple emoticon tears of joy.

Tsitsipas, who won the ATP final in 2019, posted a photo on Instagram with a poster that said "Call me" in front of him. Then followed a phone number, it was Nick Kyrgios'.

Nick Kyrgios is one of the most controversial athletes on the ATP tour, because he always makes headlines with freakouts. The Australian is currently playing on probation, but now seems to have better control on the pitch. He demonstrated this particularly well at the two ATP events in his home country, the ATP Cup and the Australian Open.

At the ATP Cup, he even won congratulator Stefanos Tsitsipas in the group phase when he won the third set in the tie-break. Only in the semi-finals, when he was clearly defeated by the extremely safe-acting Robert Bautista Agut in two sentences, did today's birthday boy throw a bat on the floor. The defeat against the Spaniard should remain his only one at the team event. And Kyrgios was also convincing at the Australian Open, but in the eighth final he had to give in to Rafael Nadal after a tough fight.

Nick Kyrgios is currently holding six titles on the ATP tour, the Australian dropping his biggest at the ATP 500 event in Acapulco when he eliminated three top 10 players in 2019 with Isner, Zverev and Nadal. At Grand Slams, Kyrgios has been in two quarter-finals, against Milos Raonic (Wimbledon 2014) and Andy Murray (Australian Open 2015), however, was the final stop there. Currently Kyrgios has dropped a bit in the world rankings, is only in 40th place. The title defense mission in Acapulco was a black chapter for the Australian - in round one, Kyrgios had to give up due to injury.

Nick Kyrgios is currently showing his big heart once again, announcing a delivery service for people in need at the time of COVID-19. Kyrgios was also particularly involved in the bushfires that destroyed large parts of Australia at the beginning of the year. And by the way, he likes to make one or two laughs on social media when he makes fun of the trainings of Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas, for example. In this case, however, his Greek colleague landed a hit.
