Nick Kyrgios will also be absent from the Sunshine Double

Bad news from Nick Kyrgios' camp: As it became known on Monday afternoon, the Australian will be absent from the two ATP Masters 1000 events in Miami and Indian Wells - the so-called Sunshine Double - due to injury. This means that last year's finalist from Wimbledon will be away from the tour longer than originally thought.

Nick Kyrgios was injured in the run-up to the Australian Open in January and had to announce bitterly that he would not be able to start at the home Grand Slam in Melbourne. At that time, the 27-year-old had announced a planned return to the USA for the two hard-court classics as a goal.

The Australian is suffering from the aftermath of a meniscus injury, for which Kyrgios recently had to undergo surgery. Although this was positive, a return to the USA still seems impossible. However, the Australian has not shared any more detailed information about his state of health.
