Now fixed: Madrid, Rome etc. canceled - no tennis until June

After the French Open had been moved to September, it had already become clear that tennis fans would have to do without tournament tennis until at least June due to the risk of the Corona virus.

Initially, the ATP had announced that the tournaments would return in late April. After the rapid developments of the past few days, however, it became increasingly unlikely that something would actually be served in Munich. Now, however, the players' association has created new facts - and announced a break until at least June 8, 2020. This is the week after the original date of the French Open, which has now been postponed to September.

The ATP measures initially fall victim to the tournaments in Munich or Estoril, then the ATP Masters 1000 tournaments in Madrid and Rome. The WTA is also involved, as stated in the joint broadcast with the ATP. With this, the two organizations have set a counterpoint to the French Tennis Association going it alone.

The world ranking points are frozen until the end of the break, which also applies to ITF tournaments.
