Barbora Krejcikova clears up again in the autumn of the tennis year 2022. Last week she won in Tallinn, at the weekend in Ostrava - in one of the best games of the season against the best player of the year , Iga Swiatek.

The Czech had disappeared from the scene a bit this year, at least in singles. After hitting her best-ever ranking of 2nd place earlier this year, following on from her 2021 French Open win and strong rest of the season.

The reason: Krajcikova had arm problems and had to pause for three or four months. And then it was hard to get going again. "It was in the middle of the season and I was trying to find my form again," she explained to the WTA about the difficult time .

Krejcikova consistently great in doubles

According to the 26-year-old, it was a lot of work and a lot of emotions. "And in the end I don't even know what happened. It just clicked."

Especially in the training sessions before the tournament in Tallinn, she felt that things were going better again. So a relief that she's found her form again? "I thought she was always there and just hiding. I haven't forgotten what I've achieved over the past year." But now she is still happy "to be part of the big game again".

Whereby Krejcikova regards the year 2022 as a positive one anyway - due to her double successes. Here she, currently second in the world rankings, has cleared up a lot, with three Grand Slam tournament victories, in Melbourne, Wimbledon and at the US Open.
