A new fixed starter for the season finale every week - this is how it seems to be going on the ATP tour these days. A little over a week ago, Dominic Thiem bought his ticket for the London O2 Arena in Beijing, in Shanghai it was Stefanos Tsitsipas who can now look forward to safe participation in the ATP Finals. Daniil Medvedev made this possible with his victory over Fabio Fognini, Tsitsipas himself rewarded himself with a success against Novak Djokovic.

Speaking of Medvedev: With his second title in a 1000 in the current season, the Russian pushed Roger Federer out of third place in the annual ranking. Rafael Nadal, who did not start in Shanghai, is still clearly ahead of Djokovic.

Zverev with a head start on Bautista-Agut

Alexander Zverev would have liked to take the victory in China with his 600 final points, but things are looking much better for the defending champion in London. Zverev is seventh, now 310 points ahead of Matteo Berrettini, whom he had convincingly beaten in the semifinals in Shanghai.

The first substitute for London at the moment would be Roberto Bautista Agut, who is taking a break this week. However, David Goffin, tenth in the race, competes in Antwerp. Just like Gael Monfils, who also has chances of participating in the final. Finally, Fabio Fognini tries to eleventh in Stockholm.
