The last official meeting between Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud wasn't that long ago, the two faced each other at the ATP Finals in Turin on Friday. There the Spaniard won the meaningless match 7:5 and 7:5. Ruud qualified for the final a day later, where he had no chance against Novak Djokovic.

A few days later, the two set off together for Argentina, where a show match is still scheduled for today, which is announced as "revenge" for the final in Roland Garros. Well, good: the stakes in Buenos Aires are legitimately low.

But Nadal and Ruud have a good time away from the court. You could see the Iguazú Falls, for example, on the border with Brazil. Rafael Nadal has partly fond memories of Buenos Aires: in 2015 he won the title there by defeating four local heroes in a row (Facundo Arguello, Federico Delbonis, Carlos Berloq and Juan Monaco). In his last appearance in the Argentine capital in the year after his tournament victory, Nadal lost in the semifinals to Dominic Thiem in the tie-break of the third set.

Casper Ruud, on the other hand, has already won two titles in Buenos Aires, in 2020 and again this year. There he defeated Diego Schwartzman in the final. By the way, he is currently in Qatar for the World Cup.
