His last match was in the US Open semi-final against Juan Martin del Potro. Afterwards, the Spaniard had to do without the other tournaments of the year due to a knee injury and an abdominal muscle strain. In addition, at the beginning of November, he had a free joint body removed from his right ankle.

Now the 17-time Grand Slam champion seems to have fully recovered. At least that's what Craig Tiley, tournament director of the Australian Open, says:

I am in contact with Rafa and he is fully fit again. He can't wait to get to Australia.

Jurij Rodionov as a training partner

Nadal has been back in training for a few days. This is also proven by images on social media that show the King of Clay on the training court in his home Rafa Nadal Academy. Austrian Jurij Rodionov will join the training partners this week.

Nadal will open his season at the exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi before heading to Brisbane for second place in the ATP 250 tournament. After that, Rafa's program is the "FAST4 Event" in Sydney. From January 14, the Mallorcan will serve at the first Grand Slam tournament of the year in Melbourne.
