Something is happening in the ATP player council. After Robin Haase, Jamie Murray, and Sergiy Stakhovsky had resigned from their functions after a meeting in Wimbledon, they have now been filled - and very prominently: Rafael Nadal , Roger Federer and Jürgen Melzer will work for their colleagues in the future.

The three were elected by the other representatives of the so-called "Player Council" and will now be active in the player council. Along with Kevin Anderson, John Isner and Sam Querrey, Nadal will be the fourth player from the top 50 in the world rankings to act on the players' council. Melzer replaces Jamie Murray and will be the second double player out of the top 100 in the "Player Council" alongside Bruno Soares.

Federer and Djokovic - interesting history

Roger Federer and President Novak Djokovic will take care of the overall picture of the player council. This collaboration in particular is likely to be interesting, as there have been small disputes between the two Wimbledon finalists over the past weeks and months over the role of the still ATP President Chris Kermode .

The position of coach Daniel Vallverdu, who also resigned from Wimbledon, has not yet been filled. The first meeting of the newly composed players' council will take place in the run-up to the US Open. The current term of the "Player Council" will run until Wimbledon 2020.
