Rafael Nadal will be missing from the ATP tour for a few more weeks. According to the most recent examinations of the Mallorcan at the Teknon Tennis Clinic in Barcelona, nothing has changed. The Spaniard wants to do more tests in three weeks, and the return is planned in five to seven weeks (as of now).
Nadal suffered a hip injury in the second round of the Australian Open against Mackenzie McDonald and was able to end the match, but was clearly beaten by the American with 0: 3 sets. From the end of the second set, however, the injury was clearly visible to the 22-time Grand Slam winner.
Nadal is planning a return on his beloved clay court season. In Roland Garros, the Spaniard is about to try again for Grand Slam title number 23. In this regard, Novak Djokovic has the chance to draw level with the Mallorquin in Melbourne these days.
