"I am pleased to have a chance a year later. I didn't know if I would ever be in the final here again," said Federer after his semi-final victory over Pierre-Hugues Herbert last year against Borna Coric .
"You are leaving the tournament with a bittersweet feeling: On the one hand, you had a good week, but you are frustrated with the defeat. I am happy to have a new chance for my tenth title," said Federer.

Only in Basel (14) was Federer more often in the final of an ATP tournament. Should he win on Sunday, it would be his tenth Halle title and his 102nd overall.
In a direct duel with Goffin, Federer has a clear 7-1 lead. Three years ago he also defeated the Belgian in Halle. "I expect a match similar to Bautista Agut, against a tough baseline player who moves very quickly," said Federer. "I'm very happy, my game is exactly where I want it to be."
Goffin himself has a simple approach. "Playing against Roger is always very special. You have to try to play your best tennis and give it your all," he said.
The final has an impact on Wimbledon's seed list: Should Federer win the Halle title, he would have been put on two in London. If he is defeated by Goffin, Nadal is the two.
