As the Blick reports, Federer wants to build a new home in his home country. The Rives Publiques association fights for consistently public lakeside trails throughout Switzerland. Federer's 16,000-square-meter site is now expected to draw attention to this goal again.

"We are convinced that you are obliged to require Mr. Federer to have a continuous riverside path directly on the water in front of his property," Victor von Wartburg is quoted in a letter to the Swiss authorities. "He can buy and use the property, but the riparian land that is owned by the public is not."

And further: "Federer also has the unique opportunity here to profile himself again as an idol in this matter by guaranteeing free passage in front of his property with a publicly accessible lake shore path with a signature at the land registry office." Federer has not yet commented to the cause. However, he obtained a building permit in accordance with the regulations.

At the ATP Masters 1000 in Cincinnati, Federer surprisingly failed in his second match. In the second round he lost to Andrey Rublev in two sets.
