Roger Federer in clinch with Uniqlo? No comeback of RF logo

Roger Federer caused a sensation at Wimbledon last year with a spectacular change of equipment supplier. After many years at Nike, the Swiss has been playing in Uniqlo clothing for a year now. The Japanese sporting goods manufacturer has now made it clear that it does not want to rely on the legendary RF logo.

According to Swiss reports, the rumored $ 300 million will be collected by his new supplier over the next ten years. Even if Nike does not want to confirm it, the US company is said to have held the rights to the RF lettering until March 2019.

"Uniqlo currently has no plans to use the initials," Uniqlo spokesman Aldo Liguori told 20 minutes . At the beginning of April, Nike removed its products from the range with the RF branding; many remaining items have been reduced significantly.

Federer himself expressed hope a year ago that he would be able to take his initials with him to the new supplier. "I hope Nike is courteous and helpful. It is very important for me, for my fans," he said.

Federer still plays with shoes from Nike, the lettering was still visible on some models.

Federer brand Uniqlo not available in Switzerland

The fact is that no Federer fan in Switzerland can currently order Uniqlo products. Delivery to Federer's home is not possible in the online shop.

The company also does not plan to open its own store.
