She protested on the sidelines of the lawn tennis tournament in Berlin, where she works as a TV expert for TennisChannel and ServusTV. "I'm very confident, I want to slowly take steps forward and only come back when I'm fit," said Lisicki in an interview with tennis magazine.

Last year in Linz, the 31-year-old suffered a cruciate ligament tear in her left knee, and the inner ligament and meniscus also had to be operated on. Lisicki recently explained that she has never had such pain. It was "a roller coaster ride of emotions," said Lisicki: "It was seven and a half months and it will be several months." She had previously told the Berliner Zeitung: "The fire for tennis is still there."

In 2013 Lisicki reached the final at the All England Club and celebrated the last of her four tournament victories in Hong Kong in 2014. Due to numerous injuries and the illness of Pfeiffer's glandular fever, she never made it back to the top of the world. Lisicki is currently no longer listed in the individual WTA world rankings.
