The Greek, who was in fourth place, was only one game away from victory against the Croatian Borna Coric (No. 27) in the fourth set when the score was 5: 1, but had to make the decisive set after six unused match points. There Coric had the upper hand, he won after 4:36 hours with 6: 7 (2: 7), 6: 4, 4: 6, 7: 5, 7: 6 (7: 4).

Tsitsipas had his match points at 5: 1 a 0:30 and at 5: 3 a 15:40, each time Coric served. And at 5: 4 a 40: 0 finally on your own serve - without success.

The ATP world champion also had every chance of victory in round five: Here he managed a break to 3: 2, but had to accept the equalizer straight away. At 4: 4 he had three more breakballs, at 5: 5 he had another one - without converting.

Immediately after the match ended, Tsitsipas tweeted: "This is possibly the saddest and funniest thing at the same time that has ever happened to me in my career."
