Golovin has played in two tournaments so far - and only five games in total. In qualifying for the WTA tournament in Luxembourg she lost 3: 6, 1: 6 against Kaja Juvan. The following week she was defeated at the ITF tournament in Poitiers against Antonia Lottner 0: 6 and 1: 6.
Golovin had already ended her career at age 20 for a chronic inflammatory rheumatic disease. "My body could no longer meet the demands of high performance sports," said the now 31-year-old then.
Meanwhile, she has learned, however, that there are treatment options and they could possibly play again. "While I was mourning my career at the age of 20, I may be able to come back now," said the ex-Bollettieri student, who ranked 12th in the WTA ranking in February 2008.
This week Golovin wants to go to the ITF tournament in Nantes at the start.
