Tennis in Germany

In Germany, the measures to contain the coronavirus have been extended until May 3, 2020, with some freedom. In some federal states, tennis can therefore be played again. These are currently Rhineland-Palatinate, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Bremen and Berlin . Schleswig-Holstein wants to enable tennis from May 4th. /

The DTB had contacted political decision-makers at the federal and state levels last week and pointed out the special features of outdoor tennis. “Especially in the current season, tennis can be practiced outdoors as an individual sport. Contamination by the gaming device is not possible. Body contact is not part of the sport of tennis. Infection protection measures that are still absolutely necessary can be implemented, ”it says.

The DTB's suggestions include maintaining the minimum distance of 1.5 meters in all areas of the course, foregoing handshakes and appointing a person responsible for corona in the club. The individual national associations have listed appropriate measures on their websites - also with regard to training.

You can find the DTB's proposals here , the individual regional associations here .

Tennis in Austria

In Austria tennis is allowed again from May 1st . Sports Minister Werner Kogler announced this on April 15 in a press conference . Kogler specifically discussed the results of the tennisnet and eTennis survey , including the 10 commandments to make tennis corona-safe.

The ÖTV now refers to common sense and the prepared rules of conduct and security measures on its homepage. For example, restaurants, club rooms and halls are to remain closed until further notice, disinfectants are provided and masks are to be put on during the stay (except when playing). In addition, only individual players should be played and only their own (marked) balls should be touched. The training should take place as individual training or in small groups (2 to 4 people plus coach), for children and adolescents only individual training is currently permitted.

Tennis in Switzerland

Playing tennis is currently still prohibited in Switzerland. However, the Swiss association Swiss Tennis has presented a comprehensive concept that has been submitted to the Federal Office of Sport and Swiss Olympic. In the week of May 4th, the decision to restart tennis will then be made.

Here is the protection concept.

Please stick to the measures!

We at tennisnet also expressly appeal to all tennis fans to adhere to the measures of the associations! This is the only way we can slow the further spread of the corona virus and still keep fit with our favorite sport!

An online booking of places is currently highly recommended. eTennis.de already supports hundreds of clubs in Austria with online reservations, club and member management, public relations, club bookkeeping and with the revitalization of game operations. Despite the restrictions of the club house, the organization of the seat allocation is secured by online reservation and game partners and people present at the same time are recorded according to recommendations. Time zones for risk groups can be represented with reservation rules and guest hour billing with online payment can be ensured without contact.

With the eTennis club homepage , your club always stays in contact with the players through the latest news and direct communication via newsletter and provides them with all the latest news.
