Yes, the International Tennis Hall of Fame is essentially a democratic private event. At least as far as entering the Hall of Fame is concerned. So it would probably be asking too much of the newly appointed President Patrick McEnroe that he removes an injustice that now seems outrageous: namely the fact that Thomas Muster has not yet been accepted into the Hall.
Now, Muster probably doesn't have a very large lobby anymore, but in addition to the successes on the ATP tour and the outstanding performances in the Davis Cup, a place should be found there.
Patrick McEnroe also co-captain in the Laver Cup
On the other hand, let's just let Patrick McEnroe settle in first. Because it has only been official since Thursday that the younger brother of legend John McEnroe will hold the post of President in Newport. Of course, Johnny Mac has long since received his shrine there.
The McEnroes still run into each other quite often, by the way. Both comment on the Grand Slam tournaments for ESPN, in the best case even together. And at the Laver Cup, Captain John made Patrick co-skipper.
