Jannik Sinner seems to have received an excellent training with Rafael Nadal in Adelaide: After his premiere title at the end of last season in Sofia, the Italian has now also won the Great Ocean Road Open in Melbourne, a 250cc category tournament. Sinner beat Stefano Travaglia 7: 6 (4) and 6: 4. The Teeanger's winning streak grew to ten matches. This run was in jeopardy in yesterday's semifinals, when Sinner was only able to assert himself against Karen Khachanov in the tie-break of the third set.

Sinner is the youngest player to have won two titles on the tour since Novak Djokovic, also a 19-year-old, succeeded in doing this in Amersfoort and Metz.

"Last year there were some great moments that I took away," said Sinner after the win against Travaglia. "But it's not just about winning. Sometimes defeats help even more, even in important matches. Especially when you're still so young."

However, Jannik Sinner does not get a breather: the South Tyrolean will enter the Australian Open on Monday, with a real scandal. He meets Denis Shapovalov in round one.
