The French L´Équipe is very reliable when it comes to information about the calendar of the ATP tour. This will also be particularly explosive in the coming season, as there is still a great deal of planning uncertainty regarding the hosting of a number of tournaments. But now the French newspaper announced that at least one other season highlight should be fixed. The ATP Masters 1000 event in Miami should take place in 2021.

There are now ten tournaments that have been confirmed by L´Équipe. The year starts with the two ATP 250 events in Delray Beach and Antalaya, which are scheduled to start on January 7th. The qualification for the Australian Open, which will take place in Doha this year, is to be fought from January 10th to 13th. Then it goes into quarantine for two weeks - in Australia.

Miami Masters is taking place

There are two ATP 250 events and a slimmed-down form of the ATP Cup on the program at the beginning of February, before the Australian Open marks the first big season highlight on February 8th, which is significantly late. Even after that, the players on the tour will be spoiled for choice, according to L´Équipe a whopping nine ATP events are planned until the end of March. The tournament that follows should be a great pleasure for many tennis fans: The Miami Masters should start on March 24th, in which Roger Federer - should he be fit again - could start as defending champion.

In its report, the French medium relies on information sent to the players by the ATP. This is said to have contained a tournament schedule for calendar weeks eight to thirteen. On this tournament schedule, however, one fixed point is missing in the normal ATP season: the ATP Masters 1000 event from Indian Wells. There are thus increasing signs that the traditional Masters could also be canceled in 2021. More likely, however, will be postponed to a date in autumn. About after the US Open.

The L´Équipe reports have not yet been confirmed by the ATP.

Here is the unofficial calendar until April:

5th-13th January: Delray Beach and Antalya
10-13 January: Australian Open qualification (in Doha)
January 31 - February 6: Two ATP 250 events in Melbourne
1-5 February: ATP Cup
