At Dominic Thiem, the forehand is already running smoothly again. Pretty round.

The Austrian tennis fans still have to be patient for exactly ten days, then the country's number one will return to the ATP tour. After a month-long injury break - Thiem played his last match in Mallorca in June 2021 - the Lichtenwörther will celebrate his comeback in Cordoba, Argentina, on his favorite clay court.

Accordingly, preparations at Thiem are currently in full swing, and the former world number three only shared some insights from his current training on Thursday. The US Open winner from 2020 is already making a lot of steam with the forehand: the hit that Thiems believed was most clearly affected by the wrist injury.

Thiem: South America trio, then sunshine double?

In a few days, Thiem will start his journey to South America, where the Austrian has initially promised three starts on clay court. After the comeback tournament in Cordoba, the 28-year-old will go to Buenos Aires (ATP-250), before the preliminary highlight awaits in Rio de Janeiro with an ATP-500 event.

However, little is known about the further tournament planning of the Lichtenwörther. Before the obligatory ATP Masters 1000 events in Indian Wells and Miami, the Sunshine Double, which will start on March 10th, there is still time to start in Dubai or Acapulco. What is clear, however, is that the return of the Austrian is imminent.
