US Open qualification: Marterer and Moraing survive the start
Maximilian Marterer and Mats Moraing won their opening games at the qualifying tournament for the US Open.

Marterer won against Daniel Dutra da Silva 7:5, 6:7 (4) and 6:2, he now meets Carlos Taberner, who is 15th. The 27-year-old can continue to collect points to knock on the top 100 again, he is currently ranked 157th. Marterer was already in 45th place in 218, but was then thrown back by injuries.
Also further is Mats Moraing. The world number 149. beat Juan Pablo Ficovich 6:3, 6:1 and now plays against Raul Brancaccio.
Tamara Korpatsch and Nastasja Schunk made it into the second round for women.
