After the ATP had announced an interruption of the daily tour routine in March before the tournament in Indian Wells, the players will return to the international tennis stage at the Western & Southern Open on August 22nd. Unlike normal, the ATP Masters 1000 event will take place this year in New York, where the US Open will also be played from August 31st.

Parallel to the second week of the US Open tournament, an ATP 250 event on clay will take place in Kitzbühel. In Austria, given the special situation, one expects an extremely strong field of participants . Kitzbühel is the starting shot for a shortened clay court season which, after the tournaments in Rome (from September 14th) and Hamburg (from September 21st), will culminate in the French Open starting on September 27th.

Vienna without competition this year

Then the professionals in Europe continue with indoor tournaments. The tournament in St. Petersburg will start on October 12th, and this year it will have the status of an ATP 500 event. From October 19, the actors can then choose between the ATP 250 events in Antwerp and Moscow.

It will be particularly interesting for Austrian tennis fans from October 26th with the start of the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna. In view of the fact that after the cancellation of the event in Basel there will be no competing event this year, Herwig Straka & Co. should come up with an even better field of participants than usual.

The professionals then head to the ATP 1000 tournament in Paris, and one week later another ATP 250 event will take place in Sofia. The year is traditionally closed with the ATP Finals in London, where the eight best tennis players in the world will fight for the last title of the year from November 15th.
