Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune will remain loyal to the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo forever. Then, when the currently 17-year-old Dane has rushed to position one in the ATP world rankings, as expected. This is what the junior announced in an interview recently. And he complained that he comes from a country with little tennis tradition and no tournaments, so he falls behind when it comes to the allocation of wildcards.

Well: After Buenos Aires, Santiago and Marbella, the Monte Carlo Country Club could not resist the advertising of Runde, and assigned the current number 321 in the world a fixed place in the table. Round meets the Norwegian Casper Ruud in the Scandinavian duel.

Musetti in the quarterfinals this week

Things look a little different with Lorenzo Musetti. The 19-year-old Italian likes to take his wildcard with him, but has already proven with the semi-finals in Acapulco (loss to Stefanos Tsitsipas) and the quarter-finals this week in Cagliari (elimination against Laslo Djere) at the men's level that he can keep up. With Aslan Karatsev, an exciting test awaits Musetti.

Which of course also applies to Lucas Pouille, who is also allowed to play in the main field. The return after a long injury break is extremely difficult for the Frenchman, with Guido Pella waiting for the first task in Monte Carlo.

Local hero Lucas Catalina won the fourth and final wildcard. However, the Monegasque does not yet know his opponent, he meets a qualifier.
