Hurkacz dominated the game right from the start, played strong - against a Federer who seemed ailing in the end. He was already in the lead with Break in the second set, but gave it away. The tie-break was decisive: Both players gave away simple points at the beginning, bitterly a slip and then a devious smash from Federer to 2: 4 from his point of view. Hurkacz took the 2-0 set lead shortly afterwards.
In the third round, only the man from Poland played against a Roger Federer, who was increasingly wrong to the ball and always seemed a step too slow.
For Hurkacz, reaching the semi-finals at Wimbledon is the greatest success of his career, after the surprise victory in Miami in the spring.
