WTA Auckland: Julia Görges & Laura Siegemund in the quarterfinals
At the WTA kick-off tournament for the new season in Auckland, two German players entered the quarter-finals. Julia Görges beat Jil Teichmann (Switzerland) 6: 3, 6: 2 in New Zealand on Thursday, Laura Siegemund surprised Coco Gauff with a 5: 7, 6: 2, 6: 3 victory.
