Tuesday ended at the WTA 250 tournament in Bad Homburg with at least one German lady who made it to the quarter-finals. However, that was the minimum possible success even before the start of the game, as Laura Siegemund and Tamara Korpatsch, two compatriots, met. Siegemund, seeded eighth, remained the clear winner in the domestic German duel with 6: 2, 6: 2. In the round of the last eight, the lady from Filderstadt has to deal with the Czech Katerina Siniakova, who for her part took the American Jessica Pegula out of the tournament with 6: 3, 5: 7, 6: 4.

Unfortunately, Andrea Petkovic was unable to match the performance of her first round game on Sunday. She drew a 6-1, 5-7 defeat against Amanda Anisimova from the USA. Victoria Azarenka, who was seeded at two, was still in the tournament. The Belarusian gave her compatriot chances at 7: 5, 6: 0 only in the first set. On Wednesday, Angelique Kerber will play her third game on Center Court after 12:00 (CEST), her round of 16 against Russian Anna Blinkova. Then tournament favorite Petra Kvitova from the Czech Republic will meet the American Ann Li.
