Emma Raducanu is injured again

Emma Raducanu will probably have to end her first full season on the WTA tour prematurely. The 19-year-old Brit withdrew her entry for the WTA Tour 250 event in Cluj-Napoca, which begins on Monday, as the organizers announced yesterday. “Unfortunately, Emma Radcucanu is forced to withdraw from the Transylvania Open due to a wrist injury. Get well soon, Emma. We look forward to seeing you again soon.”

After the tournament in Romania there is still the new 1000m in Guadalajara. It's unlikely Raducanu will make the Atlantic voyage unless she's fully fit. Especially since the 19-year-old, as the current number 67 in the world, would probably not get a permanent place in the main draw. Well, there would also be a few 125s.

Raducanu in Seoul in the semifinals

In all likelihood, Emma Raducanu's record for the season will remain 17 wins and 19 losses. The best result came late in the year: But even in the semifinals in Seoul against Jelena Ostapenko, Raducanu couldn't play through to the end. She had problems with her buttocks.

On the other hand, Raducanu has shown what she's made of in South Korea under the supervision of Dmitry Tursunov. So that she can be fit and consistent on the court in the coming year.
